Me: Hi. I’m a Japanese college student studying English. Last summer, I went to the United States for two weeks on a homestay. Can you ask me questions about my trip? I will try to answer them as best I can.

Me: I went to Southern California. My host family lives in a town called Altadena.

Me: Well, one evening we were having dinner in a restaurant in Pasadena when a fire broke out in the kitchen. All of the customers rushed out, so we didn’t get to finish eating our meal.

Me: I had been a bit nervous about crime before I went, but everything went smoothly and I didn’t have any problems.
