A fellow
lexicographer told me today about a mistake he came across in the
CD-ROM version of an English-English dictionary for students. Each
entry
is
accompanied by audio recordings of British and American narrators
pronouncing the headword. For the entryGeorge, St.the American narrator says "Saint George" while the British narrator says "George Street." The same mistake is made in the dictionary's online version. (June 14, 2004)
