Lexical Leavings

A word that is missing from all of the
general-purpose Japanese dictionaries that I checked: 経時. I've seen it
often in technical texts, and one of its collocations, 経時変化, gets over
11,000 hits at Google. The word's omission from the larger dictionaries is an
unfortunate oversight.Here are a couple of newspaper citations:
六九年には、三年に及ぶ研究で、白骨死体の着衣の腐り方から死亡日時を推定する「織物類の経時的変化に関する実験的研究」を発表。三年あまりも分からなかった白骨死体の身元の割り出しにも成功した。（佐賀新聞, 1994年10月27日)
